Windsor on Ice

Start date: 18th November 2017

End date: 7th January 2018

Time: 10.30am

Location: Alexandra Gardens

Windsor On Ice offers a great value day out for all the family, regardless of the weather, as our main ice skating rink is fully covered. We also have a smaller open air ice rink, and you can skate on both for the price of just one skating ticket. An excellent, fun venue for days out with the children, Christmas, Birthday, or Corporate Parties, and a great experience for groups or clubs who want to ice skate on real ice over the festive period. We open on Saturday the 18th of November until Sunday the 7th January.

We bring fun on the ice for young and old alike, where all levels of skaters are welcome, experienced and inexperienced. This year our viewing area, festive food court and some attractions are also under cover, so non skaters can relax and stay warm while watching their family have fun on the ice rink, whilst enjoying freshly ground coffee or sampling our festive food and drink from our indoor Ice Bar and Grill.

Windsor’s main shopping centre is less than five minutes walk from the ice rink, with many bars and restaurants close by. The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, along with Alexandra Gardens, have built the new bandstand which can be seen from the side of our outside ice rink track with an extended outdoor viewing platform. Why not take in a great river walk, or visit the world famous Windsor Castle too?

Royal Ascot 2018

The Royal Adelaide Hotel is one of the closest places to stay if you are planning a day out at Royal Ascot this year.  One of the pinnacle events of the summer social season and is certainly a must-attend event of the year and a quintessentially British day out.

Royal Ascot is Britain’s most valuable race meeting, attracting many of the world’s finest racehorses to compete for more than £5.5milllion in prize money. Our eighteen Group races, eight of them in Group One, have made legends of the finest thoroughbreds. Black Caviar, Frankel, Yeats – all are Royal Ascot winners turned household names.

In 2013, The Queen watched her horse, Estimate, triumph in the Gold Cup. A dedicated racehorse owner, she has attended every Royal Meeting during her reign and the Royal Procession is always an iconic moment to herald the start of every raceday.

Experience all the elements of Royal Ascot: the racing, the pageantry, the dining and the style!  There are three enclosures to choose from, each with its own individual character, and all put you at the heart of the racing action.  Download the Royal Ascot Style Guide to inspire you with what to wear at Royal Ascot this year.

Anticipated and revered, these five days are made for socialising. Long seen as a spectacle of fashion and style, they are referenced the world over. Each year the meeting is broadcast to audiences around the globe, yet to experience it in person is something altogether more special.

The celebrations will commence at 2pm each day as Her Majesty The Queen arrives in her horse-drawn landaus, with superb racing action from 2.30pm onwards.

After racing, traditional singing around the Bandstand commences in Grandstand Admission at approximately 6pm.
